I just purchased a new bike rack for 3 bikes, two of which are women's bikes that would not as have fit properly. I'm relatively new to biking and i never would have thought about an adapter bar. The Kuat Ubar is easy to use, light fit perfectly with the rack.
The picture isn't great, but the two bikes closest to the camera have the Ubars in use.
Everything about this purchase from eTrailer has been perfect. I got a personalized recommendation (for this rack) when I submitted a question and this was easily the best online shopping experience ever. This was my first purchase here yet I was made to feel like I've walked into a store where I've been a regular for years. I'll recommend you to everyone I can!
I was grateful to so many others who wrote reviews on this website and praised the customer service. I was looking for a trailer to haul 5 bikes including womens and kids bikes and have it work on my husbands Jeep wrangler, my daughters Subaru Outback, occasionally an RV and mainly my Toyota Sienna that doesn't even have a hitch yet. With so many options online and seemingly different products for each one, I wanted help to know if there was any product that could help me meet all me needs, so I decided to call Etrailer and get some help. They were amazing just like everyone said! He recommend the Yakima Ridgeback which would meet all our different hitch needs and the best selling Kuat Ubar adaptor bars that would make it work for our women's and kids bikes and different hitch needs. And the best surprise of all is that he told me they even carried hitch packages for my Toyota! I hadn't even expected that. The quote I received from my Toyota dealer for installing a hitch was going to cost me over $1000! But Etrailer sent me one for under $200! I am excited to get our whole family out biking more together this summer and thanks to etrailer we got everything we needed and all shipped to Alaska for only a hundred bucks in less than 2 weeks!
The man on the phone explained how my husband could install the hitch himself, but after looking at it yesterday, he decided to take it to a local shop where they can raise the whole car for the install. But that will still be cheaper than what I thought I would have to pay before.
We are planning to get the hitch on our van this week and try out the bike trailer by the weekend.

I really super appreciate you writing to follow up about the bike rack and other items we purchased from you guys. The accessories and hitch are working out great
As I had recently purchased a Kuat hanging bike rack, several of our bikes frames are either a women's step through frame or a alternatively shaped frame. To keep these bikes from being hung a odd angles, this kind of bar solves the problem. I already knew that Kuat makes strong stuff, so I went with their adapter bar. I have looked at others and I just feel that Kuat makes the best.
As always, etrailer was quick to ship and the package arrived a day early!! Second time I, not on purpose, ordered something on a Sunday and got a tracking number before the end of the day. Living full time on the road, this type of customer service is priceless!! Have not used this device yet but it sure looks to be my answer to a ladies framed bike on my Swagman mounted on my 5th wheel trailer.

Working just as needed. Knowing what I know now, I would not get another hanging single point bike mount. I will get a tire mount or at least the 2 point hanging mount. Regardless, this device works as described.
Going from a 1993 Merc Villager to a 2013 Toyota Sienna required a whole new bike carry rack. It was suggested by the website to also purchase the Kuat UB01 bar for my hybrid bike. After fumbling with it several times (it fits loosely on the bike until it's hung on the rack and when trying to lift a 40lb bike onto a rack at shoulder height with this floppy bar on it -- frustrating) I finally dispensed with the Kuat rack and figured out that I really didn't need the bar. The bike was a foot off the ground when on the bike rack anyway. The Kuat bar did raise it higher, but due to the fact that the Sienna is low to the ground and the trailer hitch makes the distance from ground to vehicle even closer, the bike was fine with the rack I purchased. So the bar may be a good idea for some, which is why I didn't give it a "poor" rating, but was a waste of money for me.
I had just bought a bicycle and a car carrier and was headed out for my first ride - and my bike would just not fit on the car carrier. Newby here! So, I went online to solve my problem. This was exactly the item I needed!
The etrailer website even had a brief tutorial on how to use it (which was much appreciated!). The best part? They shipped it out quickly!
I have been using this adapter bar for a year and had no problems - good quality item.
I am glad I bought this along with my bike rack otherwise I wouldn't have been able to put my bike on the rack. I wish there would have been instructions with the bar as I didn't/don't know exactly how to use it on my bike.

Very impressed with the purchase process & high level of customer service at etrailer.com. Lots of follow up from beginning purchase, shipping status & after the sale concern that I received my order & was happy....And Yes I am. Boxes were little crushed and taped up but prob due to heavy nature of items shipping from MO to NH. I purchased Draw-Tite hitch w/Kuat Beta bike rack. E trailer is awesome, I have bought two hitches from them and other accessories. This Kuat Bar is great if your bike doesn’t fit the style of the rack I also own several Kuat products and I highly recommend them!
It works as described and allows me to transport a family member’s bike size XXS. For these aspects I give it 5 Stars. However, I believe there are aspects that could be further improved. It would be better if the bar could be tightened to become a rigid member between the seat post and head tube. As it is, the bar remains loose and allows the bike to swing in the bike rack or drop onto painted surfaces of the bike if not attended to with care. The former problem is resolved with additional bungee cords. The later problem with layers of electrical tape applied to the inside and bottom of the clamping surfaces, as well as adjacent surfaces. This would not have been necessary if the manufacturer had applied a rubberized protective layer to all necessary areas. Therefore, my overall rating is reduced to 3 stars.
Just what I needed to easily transport my cruiser bike on a bike rack. Makes what used to be a complicated operation very simple. The adapter bar is lightweight but very strong and well designed so that it works for a variety of bikes. Very Satisfied with this product.
First of all, the customer service here couldn't be better. We were new to this and ordered 3 bars for a woman's bike and 2 kids bikes. The bar is easy to use and definitely needed for putting bikes on the Thule bike hitch, which we also got from here. The only issue we had was that my daughter's bike is so small that this bar was too long for it to attach. We called etrailer and they helped us to find another bar (Yakima) that would fit, and the exchange was no problem. This company is great!
I ordered three products from e-Trailer and was impressed with what arrived at my door, needing a bike rack that would hold four full size bikes I searched many different sites. E-trailer had the best reviews and descriptions of each which made my decision easy, the quality of each product showed as soon as I opened the boxes. The hitch was easy to install and looked good on the truck, the bike rack was just as easy to install and put four full size bike on. Being able to fit four bikes was a very big part of why I ordered it. We had recently upgraded all the kids to new bikes which the old rack would never have handled. As we prepared for vacation the four bikes fit nicely, it does take a little thinking of how to best lay them out but after figuring that out I was impressed with how well they fit and how sturdy the rack was. Thank you for your help in making this vacation a success.

Works as advertised
I picked this bar verses the Thule because it was less expensive and I needed 3 of them. You pretty much need them for all women's and children's bikes. However, my daughter's 20 inch bike will not fit on the Thule hanging rack with it on. It works fine on 24 inch bike and women's mountain bike. You may have to adjust the reflector lights to get it into a better position.
A smaller carrier adapter was a bit difficult to find.The Kuat ubar adapter was just what we needed. The size and description presented on the website were very accurate, as was the guarantee of its durability: it's very sturdy and well-made.
I am very pleased with the Kuat frame adapter that I received yesterday. I have a heavier bike and was concerned that it would not support it on our bike rack. It is very solid and sturdy and I feel confident it will do the job for many years to come. Thanks etrailer for carrying this item at such a good price.
Very easy to use. Fits small child's bikes, 12"-20" easily. Makes loading child bikes and women's bikes much easier onto Yakima Ridgeback.
Ships quickly. My service from etrailer.com has been uniformly fantastic and have them used 7 or 8 times over the past 5 years.
Shipping was fast. This bike frame adapter is very easy to install on a bike and it fit in our bike rack just fine. Tried it out today and no problems. I especially like that it adjusts for different sized bikes so that we have an adaptor now for whatever bike may need to go in our bike rack, as we often haul friend's bikes to the bike trail along with our bikes.

I have a step thru bike and needed a cross bar to secure the bike to the carrier. It would have helped if the product a was a little shorter. It can be made longer but not shorter and I had difficulty fitting it to my bike. I managed to work out a solution, it is not optimal, but it does allow me to secure the bike to the carrier. Excellent customer service from etrailer.
Another great product from etrailer.com, now that I have my Swagman orignianl and Hitch I'm able to take my daughter's small bike along with ease and safety. Simple design yet effective. Must have to avoid stacking bikes on top of each other or upside down.
I ordered the Swagman bike rack S64684 and the Kuat Ubar #UB01 adapter. The items were packaged together and arrived in a very short time. Both products arrived in good shape and the rack assembled easily. Both products are heavy duty and of very good quality. My bikes load / fit very well. I would recommend both products.
This was really easy to install on my b ike.
Had trouble finding the right size for my wife’s bike then boom, along comes etrailor with this Kuat adapter bar. Perfect.

Still very, very happy with the rack and Kuat bar. Just looking forward to getting on the trails again once the weather improves. Theres a minor tear on one of the rubber pads on the rack, but its normal wear and tear.
